Tuesday night was the WORST FUCKING NIGHT I HAVE EVER HAD!
So I’m cleaner, I get to work, and I hear Sha-nay-nay is gonna be late. Oh, but she didn’t call in, like she was supposed to. She tells Shift Leader 2 that she ‘might be late’ the day before. Yeah, at our store, you call and you tell the MANAGER this. I’ve gotten in trouble for that before, it’s a known rule.
So I get stuck in the window. In the pouring rain. For those who don’t know, or don’t remember, I have a little OCD problem, and rain hitting me sets me off. But I’m a good worker. I work where I’m told. Then we get a phone call from PinkGirl, who says that SOMEHOW my idiot self FORGOT TO TURN OFF MY CAR HOLY SHIT IT IS RUNNING IN THE LOT!
So guess who gets to run out, in the fucking RAIN to turn it off?
We don’t have employee parking, so I get to go out across the street to the overflow lot, freaking the FUCK out the entire time, running, and when I go to walk back (I had to WALK because I was exhausted from the run) one of the busses that is supposed to stop and pick me up JUST DRIVES THE FUCK PAST ME, I KNOW YOU SAW ME, FUCKER! I get in and I freak out, crying, I can’t stand to be touched because of the freak out, and I’m having to breathe in a fucking paper bag to keep from passing out. This is when I find out from Whore (I like her now, but the name will stay because I name people based on how I feel about them the first time I write about them) that her mother, Sha-nay-nay’s aunt, called her to tell her Sha-nay-nay hadn’t gone to her appointment.
And I’m back in the damn window. Nearly an hour after my freak out, I go to get a drink for my dry mouth, and I hear the cage girl say "Well, Terah’s in the window, and I know she isn’t going to trade with you."
And around the corner, holding her side was the little liar herself, with a sob story and Shift Leader 1 walking after her.
Sha-Nay-Nay: ‘Oh, Terah, can you run the window today and let me clean? Ow, my side hurts so much from the procedure.’
Terah: Uh… no. Shift Leader 1, what’s going on, am I cleaning or in the window?
Shift leader 1, who is as sarcastic as me, takes one look at her, knowing she’s faking because if she HAD, she wouldn’t be able to stand, and said "Oh dear! If you’re in this much pain, you HAVE to take the window, Terah is going to have to do a lot of heavy work!"

After one more plea, I told her she has a customer and I take off.
As I am on the floor of the women’s room, scrubbing the grout with a toothbrush (being assisted by Foofy), it seems Sha-nay-nay found out that she was found out, but instead of owning up, she decides she’s pissed at Whore, for what Whore’s mother said. She comes into the women’s room, as the employee bathroom is broke, and we hear her say ‘I’m gonna stomp her fucking ass!’
This isn’t anything bad, so I go about my business, until lunch, when Sha-nay-nay comes in, on the phone, and I hear her say "I don’t talk to her outside of work; I don’t socialize with her outside of work! I should have [husband] come in and kick her fucking ass for her!"
I know she’s more than capable of following through with it, so we told Shift Leader 1, and she called security.
My night went to shit after that. Having to run BACK out to my car for my ID because I had to fill out two statements over it, Sha-nay-nay gets sent home, and I have to go wash dishes. And let me tell you, they were nasty. How nasty?
I had to clean out the drain catcher, and I ended up having to run outside, to the dumpsters, to puke.
So, yeah, that was my night from fucking hell.
--Terah

So you're just gonna ignore the fact that, in addition to a mental health problem being set off and walking in freezing rain, I was stuck in the middle of a threat investigation and ended up puking behind the dumpsters over the nasty sink drains?
Cool, I can live with that. Thank you for the review, only those who care take the time to! :D

Terah OCD can be a bitch to work with and I hope you don't get stuck in the window again when you aren't supposed to be there. Plus I and glad that Sha-nay-nay got caught lying out right, Serves her right!
And to those with negative things to say...if you don't like the post just don't comment. Taking the time to post just shows you care!

Troll in the dungeon. Again.
Terah, I have sensory processing issues, and I feel your pain on the whole "OMG there is RAIN on my SKIN" thing.

A lot of us have things that we can't stand. I freak out when styrofoam squeaks. Those lightweight coolers sold at convenience stores are awful.

Ew. Icky bitchy troll. I feel you, Terah. I'm awful with rain, too. It seriously makes me cry to be soaking wet or rained on.

Why is pub a troll because she disagrees? I thought we were here because life is sometimes unfair and you need somewhere to vent and tell your problems - simply moaning about your own issues and being rude is not what this was about I thought?
There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with your job - your co-worker was unpleasant but you have been backed up by your boss and got to avoid the job you didn't like? As far as I can see you don't really have much to complain about.
I'm really not trying to be a troll myself here, I just don't like or get people like this. Those who reinforce her just make things worse - this is why customer service is so bad - a sense of entitlement instead of a sense of service which is missing.

I am glad that you reported your lying coworker and made sure that no harm came to your other coworker; not a lot of people are willing to make statements and file reports. Good for you, and hope things go better for you; especially if Sha-nay-nay gets canned and maybe even some jail time!

Pub Wench has been banned because of her nasty comment, not because she disagreed with the post (which is kind of ridiculous that she disagreed and shows she has no compassion anyway for someone having a bad day at work because of slacker coworker), but because she said hateful things to Terah and that won't fly on RHU.
And this site is about experiences in the service world and that's what this was - a horrible bad day on the job. What happened Terah was the result of a bad coworker which is something we have all had to deal with.

Oh honeybee. The only drawback to online anonymity is that we can't buy you hot drinks and booze to commiserate.
Posted by: Evie | January 13, 2012 at 09:10 AM
Franken-caterer....my wish to you is that you have to deal with a psycho co-worker who is threatening bodily harm to another. That you have to deal with wild hellspawn destroying your property. That you deal with the most horrible entitled crusty ever.
Then when you post here, and we'll all respond with "Sounds like a sense of entitlement instead of a sense of service"

I think Frankencaterer is likely one of those managers who just doesn't get it. I don't claim to understand Terah's aversion to rain, I just don't mind it, but dude Frankie? Lay off. As for pubwench, I didn't see what she posted. Terah, I also have mild OCD so I can actually understand *that* part of how you feel. I just hate being touched in general, even as a baby.

From what I've seen on this post and comments on others, it seems Franken-caterer has some issues with empathy.
His/her first paragraph says "I thought we were here because life is sometimes unfair and you need somewhere to vent and tell your problems" - and that's what Terah was doing. She had a shitty day, she is perfectly in the right to come here and get support.
*hugs and good thoughts sent your way, Terah*

For those who didn't see, Pub_wench's comment was 'Wow, you're the one who sounds like a bitch to work with. Your day got ruined because rain was hitting you? Suck it up, princess. Your life isn't hard.'
This story is about my mental health issue being set off. I know I should get over it, but it's very hard to get past it, no matter what I do, it freaks me out. Then I'm telling that I had a coworker threaten bodily harm towards another, even to the point of threatening to have it happen while at work and was stuck for three hours in the middle of an investigation, followed by having to puke out by the dumpsters.
Maybe my life isn't hard, but that was a shitty fucking day if you ask me.

I also sympathize with the rain thing. For me, it's any kind of repetitive, rhythmic thing, whether sound, sight, or feeling. If someone is tapping the steering wheel in time to the song on the radio, if a classmate is jiggling their leg up and down during a test, even just feeling my own pulse freaks me out. Rain is okay for me, because it's random and lots at once, rather than a single, repetitive sound. But we all have our things.
For my sister, it's people dragging their feet along the ground. Being in a large store with a tile floor makes her absolutely lose her mind, or at a waterpark where everyone's wearing flip-flops.
So I 100% sympathize. That would've been a rough day for me too <3

Terah, I have OCD also, as well as Asperger's Syndrome (for those who don't know, it's pretty much high functioning autism,) and I can tell you battling those things at my job is a nightmare.
I applaud you for staying strong during that shift. If I could, I'd try to comfort you in any way possible. I would give you a big hug, but I know you're sensitive about being touched, and I can personally understand that.
Either way, you showed a lot of heart during that Tuesday!
Posted by: Sales Agent Guy | January 13, 2012 at 12:30 PM
My heart goes out to you, that sounds like a really shitty day. The gutting thing is that you probably won't get any extra kudos from higher-ups for sticking it out.
From your other posts, I'm really not sure how Sha-nay-nay still has a job, she's unreliable, blatantly doesn't follow procedures, and is crap when she is there. On top of all that she's now getting caught out lying and is threatening colleagues? If she keeps her job after this then there is no hope.

As an aside... who the hell are Alvis and Franken-face, and why are they not considered trolls? I get that they don't use profanity and they couch their emotional vampirism in "polite" language, but I seriously have never seen either of them respond to a post positively. They constantly slam the author. (Just what we all need, right? A dose of humility from your friendly internet Eeyore?)
Anyways, Terah, I hope you got to take a long hot bath and watch something hilarious on TV after that. Or whatever flicks your Bic, I'm just saying. Chin up and don't let these fuckers discourage you.
Posted by: Evie | January 13, 2012 at 02:31 PM
It's one thing to have a shitty day, it's even worse to have a shitty day when the shit is hitting you from five different directions at once. I would love to see a submission from you Terah, telling us that Sha-nay-nay finally got fired.
Sending you an internet hug and good vibes.

Ugh, I sympathise with the unable to work under weird circumstances, mint and orange are on par with garbage gunk in smell for me.
Posted by: TechDeath | January 13, 2012 at 11:29 PM
I love it when the banhammer finally comes down on someone who goes way too far. That is quite the shitty day, Terah. I can identify with some of the mental health issues....it all-around sucks. Hope you were able to just zone out when you got home that night. Works for me. :-)

*adds marshmallows to the hot chocolate*
If Sha-nay-nay doesn't get fired soon I'll be really surprised. She sounds nutty.
