Token Female, back for more!
Update on how things are going in the dairy department. I was willing to give McDumbass the benefit of the doubt when I went in on Thursday for my normally scheduled shift, but he kind of ruined that today. Then, thursday: McDumbass managed to organize the juice cooler, and he also made an effort to pull down the milk cooler. There was a bit of adjusting that needed to be done in terms of rotating, but it was only about 3 stacks that really needed to be shuffled around rather than the entire fucking cooler. Improvement. Then I went to go look at the boat of juice that he had told me needed to be done before leaving... then realized that it was part of the load that hadn't been put up this morning and REALLY REALLY should have been put up. I go to move it, grabbing it normally, and realize... not budging. So I scoot my grip a little further down and plant my feet as firmly as possible. No go. I keep scooting down and down and down until I'm very, veeeery low to the floor. It's still not moving, so I have to unfortunately throw in the towel and go find the assistant grocery manager to give me a hand... which meant providing most of the muscle to get it on the floor. He had trouble getting it moving as well, and commented on the weight, so it (luckily) wasn't just me.
Still, Thursday was a decent day, so I was going to comment that there had been improvement. Except McDumbass went and ruined that today. I was doing the morning shift on grocery for a change, which meant that the majority of my shift was spent around him. Yay. I managed to avoid him for most of it, spending about two and a half hours in our freezer aisle putting things (mostly ice cream and frozen treats) up on the shelves... and accidentally throwing a few quarts of ice cream at the vendor because the damn things slipped out of my hands. Despite that, I heard along the way that the milk truck had broken down early that morning, meaning we hadn't gotten half our load in that morning. So I was able to shrug off the fact that the shelves looked kind of bare - not much you can do when you're lacking product, right?
Dairy load finally rolls in around 1 PM, although unfortunately for the driver, the door directly into the cooler from the docks was locked and the key could not be found (not sure if it was on a manager keyring that wasn't in the building or if McDumbass just didn't look hard enough for it), so the driver had to cart everything in through the back delivery door, around the the corners and down into the dairy cooler through the door that we're typically using, which meant that nobody could really be in that little hallway leading from the receiving desk down to the cooler unless they were interested in getting run over by milk crates. Anyways, I was more interested in dodging the driver and fretting over the fact that the cases holding our ice were COMPLETELY empty and I couldn't get into the freezer, so it took me a while to realize... McDumbass had up and disappeared. I have no clue where he went. Way to avoid doing your job in an even more spectacular fashion than you used to be doing. It didn't directly affect me, but the guy who was closing dairy tonight was understandably pissed that McDumbass just walked away without even saying "Well, I'm going to be an even bigger asshole and leave you alone! Have fun!"
Sigh. Just... extremely frustrating.
Stay cool, RHU, especially with this heat!
