NORTH ATTLEBORO - A Cumberland man is facing charges after he allegedly flew into a rage and destroyed glasses and other merchandise Monday at a store in Emerald Square mall.
Paul N. Council III, 31, of 8 Spring House Lane, was charged with defacing or vandalizing property, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace as a result of the incident at Things Remembered on the first floor of the mall.
An employee told police that Council came to the store to pick up merchandise he had previously ordered and that a worker told him she would need five minutes to complete his order. She said the suspect then left, saying he would return in 20 minutes.
The employee said the suspect returned several minutes later in a rage and demanded: "Give me my (expletive)."
The employee alleged the suspect began throwing store merchandise, including a snow globe and some fluted glasses, showering a portion of the store with glass shards.
Council was asked to the police station, where he was arrested.
The defendant was released on personal recognizance and ordered to return to court on Oct. 30.
