CSRawr here with a bit of an update and an amusing story. Since I last submitted (Oh, and what fun it was!), I've been promoted to what amounts to a supervisor position for the Work-At-Home agents for my company.
This means I get to deal with the crustys that
the WAH agents (I didn't make up the acronym. It's actually what the main CS
company calls 'em.) can't deal with. So far, I've only had one Sup call.
As I've stated before, it is not Company policy to honor past promotions. So
the call goes like this, right near the end of today's shift:
WAH Agent: I have a custy who tried to take advantage of one of our
promotions, and I already talked to another gal who said to offer the custy
10% off a future order, but the custy refused. Now the custy wants to speak
to a supervisor.
(note: We are allowed to do that, within reason)
Me: *already knowing how this will go, but deciding to go for it anyway* Okay.
I'll need the reference number, then transfer the custy to me.
WAH Agent: *gives reference number and transfers custie*
Custy: *explains what she wants, which is a "Two for $10" deal we
were apparently running yesterday*
Me: I'm sorry, but our policy is that we cannot honor past promotions.
Custy: WHAT?! I PAY *X amount of money* JUST TO BE TOLD YOU CAN'T GIVE ME THE
THINGS I WANT RIGHT NOW I WANT YOUR BADGE I WANT YOUR NAME I AM REPORTING YOU
TO YOUR COMPANY THIS IS BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE (okay, so she didn't yell, but you
get the idea)
Me: I'm more than happy to provide my name and badge number. My name is
(CSRawr) and my badge is (Badge Number). I can also provide you with our
corporate headquarters' address, since there's not a telephone number for you
to call.
Custy: Fine.
Me: *provides mailing addy for Company* *sweetly, and with a shit-eating
grin* Thank you for calling Company, have a nice day.
Custy: Like you care what kind of day I'm going to have. *hangs up*
Me: *to a co-worker, as I'm trying not to laugh* She threatened to report
me.
Co-worker: If any of us got reported as often as we get threatened with it,
none of us would be here.
Me: I know. It just amuses me when they threaten that.
So my first Sup call went off fairly smoothly (all things considered), and I
was out the door right at 8:00 AM. It will never cease to amuse the shit out of
me when I get threatened with being reported to the company.
Especially since there are at least four other agents who have the same first
name (and that's all we give to the crusties) as me.
May all your customers be pleasant ones!

I don't know where else to comment...but I am not liking the font change on RHU :( I'm not a fan of the all caps and the font is gigantic...I shrunk the zoom on my internet page so now what I'm typing is miniscule but I can still see the rest of the page's font from faaaaaaar away. Please reconsider changing the font!!! Please!! :)

RHU Fan: Seems to be an IE problem. I have the same problem here at work on IE, but at home on Firefox, it looks fine. On that same computer, on IE, same problem.
CSRawr: I've had the same problem... talking to an internal user (same company I worked for, different department) about something our references specifically say 'You are not allowed to do that'.
"You did it for me last time!"
(checks ticket history; No, you were told the same thing.)
"$Manager_Name said you could!"
(On that previous ticket, "$Manager_Name said 'don't do it'")
"Sorry. Our documentation says we are not allowed to. (/diplomatic) Maybe it's changed since you called last."
"RAWRGARBLECUSSCUSSTHREATEN I'll call your director!!" (Which, the people in this company think, is the tactical nuke of 'I'll get what I want'.)
"Ok. Want his number?"
(deflating balloon sound)
