Hello there, candieaddict here.
Second time submitting here since I’ve only just recently got a temp job working at a Christmas photo set. I adore the job more than anything. I wasn’t really expecting to get rude or entitled customers, but man was I wrong!
It was my second day on the job, well technically it would have been my third but I had to call out on my real second day as I was in the hospital. Better now though! Anyways, I was greeting customers and asking what packages they wanted for their photographs so I could tell the cashier and photographer.
This lady comes through with three or four young children, and I ask her the usual questions. I get her package set-up and she asks me “Can I take a photo with my camera?” or something to that effect.
Where we work, we have a policy that you can NOT use your own camera. We tell you this if you ask, we have it posted near the entrance. I told her this, but she wouldn’t accept it at all. We went back and forth over this, with me continuously repeating it that it was against our policy. She then tells me “well I can go to XXX and use my camera there?” I was so close to telling her to go there instead, but we can’t talk back like that, unfortunately.
Anyways, she gets up to Santa with her children, and I tell the
cashier girl and the boss what was going on.
This lady then has the nerve to pull her camera out and take a photo despite ALL OF US saying NO! Seriously lady?! You’re not paying that much, just over 20 bucks for a photo of your children. Who, mind you, were behaving a lot better than her! Such angels!
We finally get her out of there, and the cashier spots her across the way from us at the Guest Services desk reporting us! The boss had to step out to call the higher up boss and tell her what was going on.
I was so sure after this that I was going to get in trouble for not handling it right, but thankfully, I didn’t.
I don’t get the self entitled at all. We give you 3 photos for the price that she wanted, each with pretty borders, and access to getting your photos put on mugs, cards, etc. Why would you wanna use your shitty camera?!
The only good side to this was the next customer turned to me and said “I know what your policy is on personal cameras, its okay!” right within earshot of the lady. Self-entitled people are absolutely ridiculous!

"Why would you want to use your own shitty camera?"
I don't know, maybe for a digital copy that you can email, that isn't a hard copy on paper?

Where I work, we give you a digital download where you can get more photos, in various sizes, etc. Using your own camera is pointless, Raven.
