Mouse Mastered Finds Retail Heaven Career at Disney

Hello RHU!

My word, it's been a busy [insert time period since I last posted since I honestly don't know how long it's been]!

I haven't been writing as often because, well, I've had it damn good at work. I've been surrounded by awesome managers, pretty cool coworkers who stay professional while they're working (!!!), and a general amount of good fun.

First off, some good/interesting news: I am no longer at the Kingdom! I am still Mouse Mastered, but at this time I am currently working off property. I got a new position that involves a lot of guest/customer support stuff behind the scenes as it were. The best part is that the new position raised my pay by over $2.00 an hour!

In my new role with the company, I basically assist guests with questions, issues, and help them plan their vacations.

I've learned more about this property than I think I ever dreamed possible. I probably doubled my Disney Product knowledge by shifting to this position.

The fun part is that some of it involves assisting guests through internet communications. That means no face-to-face, and we all know what anonymity on the internet entitles peoples too.

I have had some wonderful communications though. I spent an hour talking to a gentleman who hadn't been to visit us in over 15 years! He was planning a grand family reunion here, and I helped him plan out a pretty awesome vacation. It made me all warm and fuzzy inside. Of course, I've still gotten some odd questions/interactions, as have some of my coworkers. Ah, well. Hopefully I have some awesome, funny stories for you guys soon. I'm keeping a list of all of our "WTF?" moments with some of the people around me and maybe I'll have a top ten or something soon.

Also, I've made the life choice that I want this place to be my home, like, forever. I'm actually switching over to a business degree major to help make that a possibility.
