One of my associates allowed him to complete his paperwork with it. I asked him if he had a valid one and he said "Yes, but it is at home in my money clip."
So I told him the truth. "I'm sorry sir, but I can't transfer this to you without a valid driver's license. If you wanted to go pick yours up and come back later, that's fine, I can hold it."
"Well, I want to return it then, I live far away and I don't want to drive and come back. In fact I want to return everything that I bought; it is in the car. I'll go out and get it."
So he comes back in with all his stuff and I process the return and it is on his store credit card. I ask him if he has the temp card with him otherwise I have to call and get the number. He tells me he doesn't have it. I call and get the number and as the girl is giving me the freaking card number he pulls out his temp card slip and hands it to me.
*headdesk*
Then he asks me if he can speak with the credit card number girl because after this is returned he wants to cancel his card. So I complete the return while he is talking to card lady and after I process the return, she closes his account.
He says "Well this was three hours of my life I will never get back." Turns around, and leaves.
One hour later I pick up the phone and guess who is calling? "Hey, I was wondering if you still had my gun and all my stuff sitting there. I went home and found my driver's license and was wondering if I could still pick it up tomorrow."
"Well, you would need to re-do all your paperwork because after you returned it all I voided it out. I still have it sitting here and I can certainly put it on hold for you, but you will have to do another 4473 and you will have to wait another 48 hours."
"That's fine. I'll see you tomorrow then."
WTF dude? I told you you could pick it up later, but YOU went and made it difficult for yourself.

I think his brain left the store early to beat the traffic. That's the only explanation I have for that one.

Can't believe he was such an idiot to try and purchase a firearm without a valid id; I mean, that's kind of a given!

o-O It's too bad you can't refuse him service. He doesn't seem like the kind of person who should own a lethal weapon.
