Bored at the Bookstore

Wow. Wish I could put that sign up at our shop!

I'm assuming it's, maybe, a convenience-type store? With lots of kids trying to hang out there?

Reminds me of a bookstore in New Hampshire that charged a $5 entry fee, which they would refund... If you bought something. They went out of business after the owner went after a customer with a length of pipe, though. Somewhat of a curmudgeon, that guy.

That reminded me of reading through one of the clients goals. Incontinence was actually listed as a goal, and try as I might no one recognized how stupid that looked.

Nomnom

Wait, what kind of client was this? And why was incontinence a goal? (What did they think it meant??)

Joie Aimee

May I recommend www.depend.com?

Skittles

@Nomnom it was a mental health client who had some issues with incontinence. The goal should have been more along the lines of: Client will develop and implement a plant to control incontinence. What my co-worker had written was: Client will become incontinent. I think they meant to put "continent" which would have been pretty silly looking too.

So, does this apply to anyone who goes in and can't find what they want? Or is it a selective policy to kick out anyone they don't want inside, or what?

PedanticTwit

Maybe they mean you can't use their loos is you don't buy.. ;)

I'm Freddy, Crypt Keeper of Retail Hell Underground RHU -- a place for service slaves to have a voice, tell their story, support each other, or just have a chuckle about the insanity of working in the 10th Circle of Hell! I'm also the author of "Retail Hell," the funny memoir about life as a handbag sales associate at an upscale department store! The sequel, "Return To The Big Fancy," has just been released in hardcover and e-reader and is available wherever books are sold!
