"Do you have any I.D?" Sure, right here in my pocket... Dumb question indeed!

Ugh, poor guy. It was a moment of stupidity, sure, but the guy sure had some balls to swallow his pride and head down to the front desk to try and remedy that situation instead of trying to get a passer-by to send for help. And dang, that elevator ride with the mother and her kid - I'm surprised that she wasn't screaming bloody murder over it. Goodness knows he was trying to cover up the best he could in the situation.

As for the idiot at reception asking for ID - it would only take half a brain to escort him upstairs to the room and make sure he had ID inside, if he was so worried about him trying to somehow scam his way into someone else's room, even though the security cameras clearly showing what happened.

That hotel has absolutely no respect for privacy, having obviously gone out of their way to cut the footage from multiple cameras to make the news like that, and then ridiculed by the newscasters like that. Whoever had access to the security footage like that should be sacked.

Perky

Maybe I'm just cynic, but to me it just seemed as if the whole thing was staged including the mother and child in the elevator ride and the desk clerk asking for ID.

  • Greetings Curious Scroller,

If you've never landed in this part of cyber space before, you have taken a hard, fast plunge into the fiery depths of work hell. RHU is dedicated to giving the service worker a voice. If you are an angry customer, a corporate suite, a homophobic race-hater, and you don't like skull masks or swear words, this blog isn't for you. Click away now, before your ears bleed and your eyes explode.

I'm Freddy, Crypt Keeper of Retail Hell Underground RHU -- a place for service slaves to have a voice, tell their story, support each other, or just have a chuckle about the insanity of working in the 10th Circle of Hell! I'm also the author of "Retail Hell," the funny memoir about life as a handbag sales associate at an upscale department store! The sequel, "Return To The Big Fancy," has just been released in hardcover and e-reader and is available wherever books are sold!
