Huff Po contacted Wendy's:
"We are aware of this and find it interesting that it appears our Wendy cameo has 'mom' on her ruffled collar. We can assure you it was unintentional," Wendy's senior vice president of communications, Denny Lynch, wrote in an emailed message to The Huffington Post.
Design blog Stock Logos pointed out the "hidden message" in the logo on Saturday. Since then, many have been speculating as to what the "Mom" message could be referring to.
Stock Logos thought Wendy's intended to create an association between Wendy's food and Mom's home cooking, noting that a Food Network UK survey found that more than half
of men prefer their mom's cooking over their wife's.
Others wondered if the word "Mom" referred to the girl herself, who appears much older in the new logo. The girl, according to Wendy's, is founder Dave Thomas' daughter Wendy at age 8. Twenty-nine years later, when the new logo was released, so was an older and more mature Wendy.
