Our local mall had a Dead Sea Spa kiosk in the middle of the massive hallways. And holy shit these people were like piranhas. If you dared to walk within five feet of this kiosk your path was guaranteed to be blocked by a girl or a guy who wanted to sell you something.
Now being on RHU, it's pretty mandatory in my code of ethics that I have patience with retail slaves. However, these people were the only people who inspired me to actually be very rude just to get away from them. One girl stepped into my path repeatedly, physically blocking me while she barraged me with questions about a nail care kit and kept dropping the price just to get me to buy the fucking thing.
She also kept trying to get a hold of my hands so she could demonstrate it. And she only backed off the physical shit when I balled a fist and pulled back my arm for a punch. That stopped the physical, but not the verbal.
It finally got to the point where she went, "Okay, I'm not supposed to do this, but I can hook you up with a manager's discount on this kit. Mum's the word though." And she put her finger to her lips like it was some sort of conspiracy between us.
It went from damn near $30 to just over $10. If the markup is so huge that you will cut your price to almost a third of its original price, you're overcharging by a fuck of a lot.
Also, what part of "No thank you," means that you should not only block my passage, but keep persisting beyond six (count em 1-2-3-4-5-6) times!?
I finally got to the point where I told her flat out that I didn't like their products because they make me break out. Which is true, I tried their exfoliating oils (read, blue oil and sea salt) and spent the next WEEK fighting hundreds of pimples all over the area where it had been applied. And I had NEVER had acne that bad before, not even in the height of puberty.
I told her that their products were too expensive to purchase, that I was currently unemployed and didn't have the money to burn, AND that the products that I HAD purchased got thrown away after a single use. And I STILL had to shove my way past her because she kept after me to buy something.
RHU I understand that commission, if she did work on commission, means food and rent. But if ANYBODY body blocks me again I will use a blunt instrument to blow out a kneecap. That shit doesn't fly with me.
May all your coworkers be taught the definition of "No,"
