So since my last post a few things have changed. I’m still at the restaurant except now I’m a manager. That’s right; its my restaurant bitches, and I run it how I see fit.
I’ve been in charge for a few weeks now, and I love it. I really enjoy my job and still all of my coworkers are unbelievably awesome, and they all appreciate my input and everything has gone swimmingly for the last few weeks.
But today I just felt the need to share the story of a newbie, a douchebag custy and an awesome one.
We have a few awesome newbies at the moment, they're all about 5 shifts in and doing very well. Today however one of them did make a mistake.
There was a couple on a table, who had just received their meals. Our lovely newbie was carrying a tray with 2 glasses of wine on it. First glass goes on the table fine, the second however, something happens, and the second glass of wine goes all over the table.
I take care of the problem, which is my job, I take both the plates off the table and apologise profusely. The lady at the table had eaten most of her meal, and the gentleman had barely eaten any. Wine was in both their meals.
I offered them complimentary dessert and coffees and another fresh round of meals. All of which they refused.
I spoke to the kitchen, who told me it was okay to void one of the meals but not the other.
They went fucking bat-shit insane. They lost their shit at me, the newbie and my boss.
She refused to pay for their meals, insisting that they hadn’t eaten most of it.
Eventually,I just gave up. This crusty old bitch was not going to give in so I voided both of the meals and let her on her way.
I rolled my eyes as they left, and talked to my newbie. She was okay, understood and lets face it she’s awesome.
And he replied, “Definitely more than the crusty old bitch at the next table.”
I laughed and said “Oh you heard that did you?”
“Yeah she was a total asshole. That’s why we told them to fuck themselves when they left.”
I thanked him for saying what we were all thinking and gave him extra chocolates.
I Love My Job.
