Ok, I know that it's really early to make this call... But I really like my new job so far.
Everyone is so understanding and patient with me. I have yet to meet another employee that I want to punch.
Yesterday was orientation, which was the usual booklet reading and signing. I ended up having lunch with another new girl and she's hilarious. She's in a different department, but I'm definitely loving her. Then I was sent to the cash for a few hours of training, even though I only managed to get an hour and a half of training in.
The woman who trained me, we'll call her Kay, is hilarious. She explained everything in a simple and fun way so that I would understand and easily remember. When we were done, she told me that I did a great job. Apparently she trained two other new cashiers, and they were both idiots. She said that one couldn't subtract $10 from $25.
Then today I went in to do this really rediculous E-Learning shit. Well, there were no computers left, so the main manager let me use hers.
When I went in, she said, "So, Kay's been talking to everyone about you. She thinks you're the best out of the new hires." Then she told me that there were Pop Tarts in her top drawer and that I could have one.
When I finished that, I went down for four hours of cash training and when I got there, Kay was there speaking to the woman who trained me tonight, we'll call her Sherry.
Kay saw me and told Sherry that I was awesome and that I could pretty much be on my own. There was another girl who was being trained on the cash registers and I actually helped her a lot!
Plus, as I was leaving tonight, I overheard Sherry tell another woman "My night was easy, Julie did everything right, and we mostly checked out guys who are way too young for me."
So, here's hoping it stays this nice!
