This is Greeter Bitch again, having gotten through one hell of a day. Thanks to everyone who commented on my last post, I was able to check once during the day and it made me smile.
Some of you may be wondering the details of what happened today. However, before I get into that there's one teeny tiny little detail I forgot to give you today; we were supposed to be switching over to a new system today. One that I have NO training in whatsoever (only one person in the store had a vague idea and the 'tutorial' was useless). So during the day I was logging information into not one but TWO sites because I couldn't figure out how to print certain forms on the new one.
I arrived at work 30 minutes early where I would normally be there 5 minutes before opening. There were 14 people already at the door. When we opened the door, they all lined up at my desk to give me names and phone numbers (one of the internet peoples helped me take down information). There were 22 people there all for these crappy, old cars that were really worth the 600.
15 of those people walked out because of the wait, because we only had 6 salespeople. Seriously, owner man? You couldn't have switched around some people's days off a bit so that we'd have more people working on the opening of a two-day gimmick sale that's only purpose is to increase traffic? Christ!
Still, I managed to keep calm and get through it all with a smile on my face, a real miracle. I was even praised by the managers for staying calm and keeping the customers happy by serving water, coffee and tea. I don't think they realized that towards the end of the day I was sending people away with a business card and instructions on who to make an appointment with.
At least I'm not working tomorrow, and my classes finally start again on Tuesday!
Until next time, RHU!
