I say we put a cap on total executive compensation: no more than 100 times the lowest amount the company pays in salary to the employees/contractors/subcontractors [etc].

That'll induce them to raise salaries for the underpaid grunts, too.

I'd say that Jobs had the right idea with his $1 annual salary, but he also made boatloads with his stock, so...

Instead of giving CEO's massive pay and stock options, why not make them earn it? Give them a decent starting pay rate with bonuses based on performance. None of this "Golden parachute" business either.
