I'm seriously thinking about asking for an extra day off next week; I have the vacation time left, and if I don't get away from work for 2-3 days, I will snap.
I've been half feverish for a week on top of having to deal with impossibly lazy/ignorant/stupid associates.
Like yesterday, Shortshit comes and finds me in the middle of the store saying a customer bought a 2 liter of Dr. Pepper, when he put it in his car, he noticed it was fizzing, omg what do we do!!???
I told him to get the customer a new bottle, dump the contents of the spewing bottle and put the bottle in the vendor return box. An hour later, I see Slowmo go outside with a broom and Spill Magic. Wtf? Spill Magic in the parking lot?
Turns out she found a bottle of Dr. Pepper in a puddle on the sidewalk. I thanked her for noticing it and told her to go dump the contents of the bottle and put the empty bottle in the vendor return box.
Okay... fast forward a few hours, I go outside to get shopping carts and waddayaknow, there's a half empty bottle of manager Dr. Pepper sitting on the side walk, next to a tied up bag full of Dr. Pepper, yep, like one of those baggies you get when you buy a fish.
Shit like this makes me mad, I mean, I didn't ask them to bleach the ceilings, I didn't ask them to move our 280lb fireplaces by themselves (which I had to do twice today), I asked them to perform a task that a 5 year old can do. And they chose not to. This, over and over and over and over.
Tell Shortshit to please make sure he gets all the boxes inside the decorative boxes out while stocking. Get cussed out a few hours later by a woman who wants all 8 boxes inside the big box on the shelf. The effin box has a wrap around it saying please unstack, but no, Shortshit had to lie, knew I couldn't go check on him, told me he got it all done right, then lied when he got called out on his lie.
I have grown ass men, who cant stack a pallet of water after showing them how to overlap cases, it's frustrating, and getting on my last nerve. Doesn't help that I'm the lowliest manager on the team, yet I get to work 8h as the only manager, without a chance to leave the building for a break (yeah what's a break btw?).
I got paged 6 times yesterday, from the stockroom to the front, by the same cashier, telling me a Sprite Zero wasn't ringing up right, 5 times I told her to scan a regular sprite, the 6th I just walked off on her halfway through her question, and by golly! She figured out what to do!
I stay nice and professional when I can, but it's getting really hard here lately, I actually asked some one today if he was born stupid, and that is crossing a line I don't want to cross.
I'm going to politely explain to the boss (who was on vacation this week) that if I can't write these people up or send them home when they're clearly hiding in corners texting, I need a few days to get away from them, or I will snap and probably lose my job.
