Our store doesn't often have samples, for this reason, and because we are so small.
But last Christmas we had an empty plate which had been used for sampling mince pies and a sign indicating there were samples.
A woman came in and demanded that we open a pack of mince pies so she could try them.
She told me that she was hungry and demanded again that I open one and give it to her. She had somehow gotten it into her head that because she was hungry, and because we had (limited) samples, that she should be fed an entire package of pies for free.
One of my co-workers, whom we call The Hero, came past and barred her on the spot. I wanted to laugh in her face when she said she would be complaining about us.
