From NinaBisk, Tales From Retail:
So my town got enough snow yesterday to make it unsafe to drive. It was by no means a blizzard, but enough to keep plow trucks busy, and slip and slide all over the road. Accidents here and there from people who weren't careful.
As the sun set, and the roads began to ice, by manager made the decision to close up shop so everyone could get home safe. I was thrilled, because from my job to my house was uphill the entire way. It took me a half hour to make that 2 mile drive.
Customers still come in today with some variation of:
"Why did you guys close early yesterday? It took forever to drive out here to get [insert item they needed]. I almost got in an accident! And then I get here to find you guys all boarded up? It wasn't even that bad out..."
Because yes, you almost got into an accident getting here, but it "wasn't that bad"?
I feel like people walk around with the horse blinds on a little too often...

Heh, makes me think of the news going on about Germany getting snow since New Year's and there being constant accidents. Guys, come on! It's freaking JANUARY. I know we didn't have snow the previous months, but we are still in freaking winter. It's not that uncommon of an event; it's practically anually.
"It took forever to drive out here to get [insert item they needed]."
Unless the item you needed was diapers, moist toilet paper or medicine like insulin, you could stay home and wait.

You can't fix stupid, but you can let Darwin weed them out sometimes
