I work for a clothing store, and during Black Friday we had many exchanges/returns, which is totally fine if they are buying other items, because in the end it's not that bad and usually doesn't take too long.
But then comes this lady with a huge bag of around 20 items to return.
(L = Lady, M = Me)
M: How can I help you today?
L: You're going to hate me.
M: Umm.. why's that?
L: I know it's the busiest day of the year and all, but I'd like to return all these.
M: thinking: I've done plenty of returns today, nbd No problem!
I then realize that most of the items are jewelry which have been taken out of the packaging so it is hard to tell which barcodes went to which item. On top of that, some packaging/barcodes were missing, and some were SUPERGLUED onto the incorrect items making it even more confusing to figure out the right item barcode.
45 minutes later with the store manager's help, we've finally sorted through the ridiculous mess, and a giant line had formed (we were taking up one of the three registers we have available).
Aftermath includes getting cussed out by the next dude in line, and a lot of very angry and snarky remarks as the line goes down. Fun day!!! But I got free food so it all turned out fine.
