Adams Media premiered Retail Hell at the Book Expo America (BEA) in New York last weekend! I was on hand to sign books and had a retailicious time. It was great meeting everyone - and librarians ROCK! Thanks to Adams Publisher Karen Cooper, Editor Chelsea King, and Publicity Director Beth Gissinger for making the event so fun. Thanks also to my super agent, Holly Root at Waxman Literary.
This little fluffball of love is Arion, a Bichon Frise. I'm her uncle. Her parents are my sister Billee and her wife Michelle. Arion loves massages, belly rubs, being carried around, and an occasional unauthorized dip into cat food.
Yes, believe it or not there is snow in Palm Springs. There's a huge-ass tram you ride to the top of a mountain where you can find snow during the winter and spring months. It's a trip to go from palm trees and 80 degrees to pine trees and 25 degrees within 15 minutes.
Look what I found waiting for me on my doorstep! The Retail Hell galley books and BEA shopping bag! They look fantastic. Get ready Stephen King and Kathy Griffin - some Retail Hell is coming your way!
Lovin the bag hanging from the L! Better than my neck. Props to Frank Rivera and team - they did a retailicious job with the cover and all this imagery I get to use on the blog!
Circa 1980's. Looks like I gave to a charity (probably at gunpoint). The torn silver star? Timeliness, perhaps? Retail is so high school! One thing I know it didn't come from: opening new accounts. I sucked at that.
Where the magic happens...my last moments of finishing Retial Hell. If you've got Diet Rockstar, Doritos, and iTunes, you can do anything! Jack Daniels mixed with the Rockstar doesn't hurt either.
