Scheduling Hell: When It's Not Worth It, Hours Wise, To Show Up To Work

Carolanne and JasonFrom: Laura

Cut hours suck. And if other stores are anything like mine, it’s not that we haven’t had any hours at ALL, but we’ve had our payroll reduced so drastically that it feels that way.

My store is so little that a lot of the time, there’s only one person working. With the January/February weather and the post-Christmas sales slump and other factors, we just don’t have that many customers at this time of year.

I was just off for three days in a row; my shift today was cut because of last night’s snowstorm; I work for five hours tomorrow and then I’m off for another three days in a row.

It sucks, but there’s really nothing to be done about it.
