Menu Fails: What's The Difference Between "Pop" And "Soda?"
My family and I bought a pub, and I found this menu from when it was a bakery in the 50's. Behold the hilarious prices. Also, that phone number... Apparently phone numbers used to be only two digits long... (Click the picture to see it bigger)
Being from the midwest, I can tell you that this is not a fail. There was a difference between pop and soda. Pop was the stuff that you drink from a can or bottle. A soda was something that was created from soda water and syrup, and frequently had a scoop of ice cream dissolved into it.

I was thinking ice cream soda, or what we now call a ice cream float.

Yep, olde-timey soda shoppes would make sodas with soda water, syrup and usually ice cream.

Pop came from a bottle or can, soda was soda water and syrup, I've been to a place that served soda and pop, and that's how I learned the difference.
