I work at a company that sells hundreds of different different items. We manufacture over 90% of it and have a select few distributed items and I am the person who orders them so I am very confident when we don't carry something. I have also been a manager for quite a while, people will specifically ask for me when they call because they know I know what I'm talking about.
Today this lady called and my coworker picked it up. The lady tried to order tea that she "orders ALL the time". We don't carry tea, we stopped in 2011 and even then it was like 20 boxes or less per year. Coworker told her that we don't carry this product and the lady starts getting pissed and yelling. So of course it got transferred to me (yay....)
Me: Thank you for holding, this is Warrior_of_weekends speaking
Customer: So you STILL haven't found my tea!?!
Me: I'm sorry but we do not carry any teas at all
Customer: I ORDER IT FROM YOU ALL OF THE TIME!!!
Customer: says some confusing Chinese name I couldn't understand Can't you look in my order history and see?!?
Me: I have never heard of that product, I am currently looking at your order history and you have never ordered that product from us.
Customer: THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!!
Me: Can you possibly spell the name of the product? I will try to look it up
Customer: I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS! I HAVE TO GO!!
Me: Okay, but would you like the rest of the order that you started?
Customer: Ugh, yeah I guess.
Me: goes over order details & finalizes order Ok great, thank you so much have a great day!!!
Customer: uh.... you too...
This is the shortened version of this conversation. She was yelling for most of it, her voice dripping with contempt. I looked up the product online and it was a completely different company. So I sent her a copy of her order history and our pricelist with an order confirmation. I hope she feels like an ass when she realizes she called the wrong company but I am not holding my breath...
