Please Do Not Shop Today On Thanksgiving -- Stay Out of The Stores and Support the Growing List of Retail Corporations Giving Thanksgiving Back To Their Employees
We are happy to see so many stores closed for Thanksgiving this year but the main group of murderous corporate villains who cause the death of Thanksgiving in the first place are still opening their stores, forcing employees to work and be away from their families today.
As many malls, stores, and shops that were once open, stay closed this year, we hope the trend grows and more shoppers than ever stay out of the stores that killed Thanksgiving: Macy's, Target, Kmart, Sears, Best Buy, etc, These companies will start getting the message and hopefully be forced to change their Thanksgiving hours if people stop shopping on Thursday and save their buying for the real Black Friday sale on Friday. It's an uphill battle for sure, but the retail tide appears to be turning a bit this year.
Below is a graphic showing major stores that were open on Thanksgiving 2014. Since then two stores, OfficeMax and Staples, have jumped the "Black Friday Sale on Thanksgiving Day" ship and will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
[*also note by next year this list may look different with the bankruptcy of Toys R Us, and a few other stores struggling to stay afloat.]
Below are the stores closed for 2017 Thanksgiving, giving Turkey Day back to their employees. This year there are also many big malls across america and smaller mom and pop stores that are now going back to being closed for Thanksgiving.
We want to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving and if you are retired from Retail Hell like Ilia and I are, we hope you'll join us and stay out of the stores today! Try and stop your friends and family from going out to a major store on that list today. Encourage them to wait til Black Friday. It's a small way to help fight this age old retail battle.
For those of you having to work today, on Thanksgiving, our hearts go out to you - it fucking sucks turkey balls!!! We are thinking of you and supporting change that one day soon Thanksgiving will be given back to the retail workers and these retail corporations will drop their "Black Friday Sale on Thanksgiving" nonsense and leave it behind, in the past -- as a dark part of retail history that historians will look back at and say, "what greedy dumbass baboons those corporate CEOs were!"
Have a Happy Turkey Day RHU!
And may all your customers be nice this holiday season,
Freddy and Ilia
