Tech Support Hell: "Soundproofed"
Is That Your Real Name, Or Your Stage Name?

I'm hearing an oldie echo tuning in:
"I'm heavenly blessed and worldy wise
I'm a peeping-tom techy with x-ray eyes
Things are going great, and they're only getting better
I'm doing all right, getting good grades
The future's so bright I gotta wear shades"

Taco Bell's not the only one doing "apply by text" - even in this little podunk, middle-of-farm-country city, there's at least three restaurants whose signs advertise the option. I personally think it's slightly ridiculous, but...

I can see the thought process. You're looking for high schoolers and recent graduates. How do they communicate? Via text.

I'll admit, I was so timid at that age, applying through text would have been a godsend. At the same time, I really hope it doesn't catch on, but I can't tell if there's logic to my gut feeling, or just me getting old. :P

Jofur, I think those are 3d glasses, rather than sunglasses.

In the last 20 years, I haven't applied for a job in person. I use online job finding sites, both specialized for techs and the state's unemployment thing.

I knew they were 3d, but they still triggered that song.

It's not online that makes me twitch for some reason. THAT I can see and would gladly take advantage of. But...through text? That's just getting a bit into the ridiculous end of things.
