This decade we had a 90+ older man that still came in to sit at a table and teach people how to graft fruit trees, while he did about a hundred for us for a couple days. He planted evergreen seedlings every year and maintained them on his farm as his hobby. His family had taken over all the rest of the farm.
I used to plant hickory nuts and acorns before I was in school and when I saw them last they were good sized trees. I have a tree that ended up being a popular wedding photo spot.
