Justice Served: You Trash Talked Her To Who?!

JUSTICE SERVED 2From shutterbvg, AskReddit

When I first started dating a guy I went to high school with, E, I hit it off with his best friend pretty well... At the start, anyways. We’ll call him T. He seemed pretty legit at first- we always gave each other shit during video game nights, which were pretty damn frequent, and as far as I could tell, we were friends.

Til I casually one day mentioned being autistic.

He began harassing me after that. Always over Facebook messenger, always really hateful stuff about how I was making my diagnosis up for attention. He even at one point told me that even if I showed him the papers with the diagnosis from the therapist I saw when I was a kid, he wouldn’t believe me.

I eventually cracked when T wouldn’t let up and showed E, who ended the friendship (of his own choice, mind you. Important for later.)

Fast forward to a few years later. Me and E have broken up, he’s friends with T again, and the two of them are running a computer shop downtown together. My mom (who knows the whole situation with T, but who has never met him) goes in to get a repair done on a computer of hers. E’s not there, but T is.

They get to talking and T is just making small talk, eventually asking her how she knows E. She mentions (purposefully vague) that he used to hang out at her house with her kids and their friends every day after school.

T asks ‘which friends?’

And my mom starts naming them all off... And says my name last.

She told me he looked as if he’d just eaten a lemon at the mention of me.

And his reply? ‘Can I just say I DESPISE shutterbvg? She’s a compulsive liar and she tried to turn E against me, wouldn’t let him talk to me or anything.’

She said he went on about me for the entire time he worked on her computer- which was a good ten minutes.

She just sat there and listened, not saying a word.

Finally, as they were finishing up, he started to kinda get hit with realization because he pauses and asks... ‘So how do you know shutterbvg, anyways? Are you guys close...?’

Mom: ‘Oh yeah, I’d say we are. I’m her mother, after all.’

He didn’t charge her a cent for the work.

I literally howl-laughed into the phone when she told me all this. Most satisfying shit of my life.

Justice Served: Banned, Arrested And Towed

JUSTICE SERVED 3From u/lendergle, PettyRevenge

I was 18 and in my first "managerial" job. I.e. Swing Shift Manager at a fast food burger joint. Like every place, we had a couple of "usuals" who were assholes for the sake of being assholes. One of them, an over-the-top egregiously aggressive woman who found fault with everything, would go ballistic if you so much as failed to address her as "ma'am" in every sentence.

Things came to a head when she was so rude to one of our counter clerks that she made the girl cry. I told the girl to go back to the break room and take a breather, and then calmly informed the woman that she was no longer welcome in our store. That triggered the nuclear option. I waited for the screaming and cursing to stop, waved her to the door, and then watched as she left.

I sent Corporate her CC number and license plate info, and they sent her a "you're banned from ALL the stores" letter, filed it with the local PD, and told us to call the cops immediately if she ever showed up in our store again.

Which she did. A few weeks later, she showed up ready to launch into another tirade for whatever imagined offense might occur. We politely kicked her out despite her screaming that the do-not-trespass order was fake, wasn't legal, didn't apply to her, her lawyer said ... It happened again a couple of times, but eventually her luck broke and there happened to be two cops on their dinner break in the restaurant.

I was on shift that night. And I can tell you that I have rarely been so satisfied as when I showed the officers the order, identified the woman as the person referred to in it, told them about the frequent return visits and then watched them arrest her on the spot.

Best of all, I never had to testify- she went totally ballistic and scratched a cop's face. No need to book her for trespassing when resisting arrest and cop assault were so convenient!

Now, the vast majority of this story is Instant Karma. So why am I posting in /r/pettyrevenge ? The answer is simple: After they hauled her away, I noticed that her car was still in our lot... Oh yissss. That call to the towing company was the most satisfying two minutes of my young life.

Sure, I could have just let it sit there until she came back for it. But make my register clerk cry? Yeah, enjoy your trip to the impound lot... ma'am.

Justice Served: Getting A Bully Fired... Twice

JUSTICE SERVED 3From u/Kate_Luv_YaProRevenge

So, this happened over a decade ago.

I was working in a clothing store, and it was a pretty great gig. I had decent hours, I got a 50% discount… the only drawback was one of my co-workers. I’ll call her Bea. Bea was one of those people who would be pleasant, then would suddenly say something nasty and laugh it off. She would leave me nasty notes (things that said, “How stupid are you? How did you not know X") or would simply make the comments straight to my face. I talked to my manager about it, who talked to Bea, but not much was done.

Eventually, a promotion became available, and both Bea and I were up for it. We both were interviewed, and eventually, I got the position. I felt pretty good about that, but it only made the bullying worse.

Eventually, one night, when I was closing, I realized that there had been a trend that had been going on for a while. Bea would have a return, but the slip with the customer information would be missing. I was a little frustrated (and, if I’m honest, smug, because I always kept track of that slip) but then a thought occurred to me. I pulled out a receipt from a sale I did to Bea earlier and compared the card numbers, and lo and behold, they matched.

I was in a state of shock. I called my manager and explained what I had found. She had me go back through the last few weeks sales to see if I could find any more.

Almost $5000.00.

When Bea arrived at work the next morning, the police were waiting in the back room. I wasn’t allowed to be anywhere near the store, because they were worried she'd retaliate. I don’t know all the details of her punishment (I purposefully kept myself distanced), but I heard something about her having to repay them.

It doesn’t end there though.

Carolanne fuck you1A few months later, I was shopping at the other mall in town, and saw Bea working for another clothing store chain. The next day, I went by the store in our mall and chatted with my friend who worked there. I “casually” mentioned that I noticed Bea was working there now, and asked what she thought of that.

My friend said that she didn’t know too much since Bea worked at the other location, but then asked if I knew anything she should know.

I said that I didn’t want to cause anyone to lose a job, but that doing a criminal record check on any new employees would be a good idea. Next thing I knew, Bea didn’t work there any longer.

TL;DR I found that my bully was a thief and definitely cost her one job, possibly two (though if she didn’t steal she wouldn’t have been fired so maybe she cost her the jobs, but…)

Edit: For the refunds, she was waiting until the floor was clear, then grabbing merch off the racks and doing a refund onto her card. Then she was throwing out the slip of paper that was supposed to have the client information written on it, so that we can keep track of all that (and probably to prevent this from happening).

In the end we had to do a store inventory because they had no idea how much of what items we actually had, because the system thought we had much more of whatever she "returned" but (of course) there was no physical product to go with that.

Justice Served: "You're Such A Delicate Princess"

JUSTICE SERVED 3From RHUer

I was new to the whole "work for a paycheck" thing when I worked at a grocery store and I was stocking Instant Noodles on a big sale display.

All I had was a cheap small step 2 step stool; you know the one with the bar that runs across the top step? It was a piece of shit, and not tall enough to really do the job.

Every time I climbed that thing, there was a high chance my standing on it would collapse it. It was wobbly as shit too. OSHA would have blown a gasket, but I was an ignorant newbie and intimidated by my boss.

This guy apparently heard that women should be treated as equal to men, and had re-interpreted it in his mind to mean that all women should be all stoic, hoorah, climb-that-shelf with one arm, with a bowie knife AND a lit cigar between your teeth, G.I. Jane poster girls. (Yes, he was built like a fridge, and yes, he had two failed marriages in his past. Wonder why?)

Like, okay, if a woman has the body type and mentality for that, they can join the Service. We're in a grocery store and nobody, but NOBODY, was going to climb grocery store shelves for a goddamn box of cup-o-noodles. And yes, if the thing you're climbing is wobbly as fuck, yeah it's normal human behavior to wave your arms in an attempt to stabilize yourself.

He watched me struggle for like, 30 seconds, made some disgusted grunting noise at me, then walked away to do something elsewhere for a few minutes.

One of the young male coworkers saw me doing this wobbly high wire act and sprinted over to catch me around the waist and stabilize me. I ended up having to use his shoulder as a handrail to get the last of the stuff onto the display. (And to salvage some of my faith in men, this coworker didn't put his hands anywhere inappropriate or take advantage in any way.)

Me, sheepishly: "I'm sorry, I'm sure you have better things to do."

Male coworker, cheerfully brushing it off: "Shush your apologies and just do what you have to. Besides, I'm a wuss when it comes to seeing women bleed."

He then blushed and mumbled, "I mean when they're hurt, not... Shutting up now..."

I managed to suppress my laughter down to a smile, "I got what you meant. It's okay."

His little faux pas did help me finish what I was doing though, since I was too amused to get the shakes on the step stool.

Balls award1My boss soon came back along and saw me being supported by a big, strong guy and using his shoulder as a handrail. He sneered at me and made a not-so-quiet comment about me being a 'princess,' and how 'delicate' I was acting.

I was facing the opposite direction, but I THINK the coworker who was holding me up, flipped my boss the bird. He briefly took a hand off my waist and aimed it in the direction of my boss before taking hold of me again and helping me down to the ground. I can't confirm, but I do have the strong feeling that that's exactly what he did.

[Editor's note: I think so too. Here's an honorary Retail Balls Award for your coworker!]

My boss just kind of grunted at this (maybe his mentality also assumed that elevated middle fingers were standard methods of communication in the business world?) and took off with the step stool to use.

Not even five minutes later there's a massive crash and the sounds of an avalanche.

My boss, who isn't a lightweight 'delicate princess' like me, apparently exceeded the stepstool's tolerance. While stocking some 2-Liter Coke bottles on a sales display, either leaned too far or weighed too much, and the stool decided to fall apart.

And I don't mean it simply fell over, or folded up like it was designed to. I mean it actually fell apart... into individual pieces. Closer inspection showed where age and metal fatigue basically disintegrated the places where the parts of the stool came together.

My boss had broken his arm and took down half the display.

We got several brand new, sturdy, OSHA approved step stools a few days later, and a boss who hid from everyone while he was in his cast.

Justice Served: Planning To Blackmail An Attorney? Yeah That's Gonna Go Over Well

JUSTICE SERVED 2From u/daecristProRevenge

Years ago when I was in college I worked at my dad's law office to make a little extra money. I enjoyed the work and enjoyed working with my dad on the daily. He was a nice man and generous to a fault. Sometimes so generous that people would take advantage of him, but he never seemed to mind.

This is a story of a time I minded though.

I was getting close to graduating and moving on when a new girl, Jessica, suddenly came on the scene. She was in a paralegal program at the local community college and needed hours in a law office for a class or something. It's been awhile, but the point is getting those hours was important to her completion of her class/program.

Jessica was interesting. She was in a paralegal program, but her main job at the time was working at a gentleman's club. That's where she'd met my dad while he was out enjoying the evening with some friends. She told her story, and that's how she ended up applying at his office. I don't judge for being a stripper. More power to her and there are many fine women and men in that profession, but it's important for later in the story.

I didn't think anything of it. She seemed a little standoffish but whatever. Things quickly started to get out of hand though. She'd cop an attitude with the full time and part time legal assistant on staff and act like she was the boss. She treated the fact that she was studying to be a paralegal as license to act like she was better than them because they didn't have degrees or certificates or whatever.

Me she just hated. I was in a weird in between place where I was doing the work of a legal assistant, but I was also the boss's son so I had a little more pull. The first time she tried to order me around I laughed in her face. When I found out what she was doing with the other people in the office, people I'd known my whole life who were like family, I put the kibosh on the whole thing and reminded her she was there doing work study and therefore the lowest on the very horizontal org chart.

She didn't like that, and I had a bad feeling about it all. I talked with my dad about my misgivings, but Jessica was young and my dad was a long divorced man who was a sucker for a pretty face and a hard luck story. She had both, and he figured she couldn't be all that bad after she was talked to.

That bad feeling I had didn't go away though. I knew something was up, but I couldn't prove anything.

Only Jessica had a LiveJournal. That's how long ago this was. I figured she might have posted something there, she'd told me her name, but when I went to check it out the thing was locked down and only her friends could see her posts.

Freddy2 070aEnter Tiffany. Tiffany was a dancer who worked in a club in a bigger city that was nearby, but not so close that Jessica would know the people who worked there. She loved dancing and loved meeting other girls who were in the profession. I know all this because Tiffany was me. More specifically the LiveJournal account I created to friend Jessica.

Sure enough she took the bait. Tiffany didn't even have any posts, but I don't think Jessica ever bothered to check. Either way I only needed access to her account for a few minutes before I found posts badmouthing everyone in the office. She went on about how she was a paralegal (she wasn't, yet) and knew more than everyone in that office (even the lawyer) and was smarter than everyone there.

Even more interesting were her plans to invite my dad back to her club so she could manufacture an incident and basically blackmail him with the threat of a sexual harassment lawsuit. For going to see her. At her invitation. At the strip club she worked at.

Not the brightest bulb in the apple bushel, knowhatimean?

I finally had the evidence I needed. I don't think her plan had much chance of succeeding. Dear old dad might be a divorced man who enjoyed the ladies, but he was hands off with anyone at the office. Not to mention blackmailing an attorney didn't seem like the best plan. Still, I figured it'd be best to nip this in the bud before it even takes off.

So I print everything off and hand over the evidence to my dad. He's understandably furious. He took a chance on this girl that a lot of people probably wouldn't have and she paid him back by treating his staff like shit and plotting to blackmail him. He calls her to the office then and there.

She clearly seemed nervous when she came in. I silently handed her the copies of everything I'd printed off and she knew the game was up. I had a shit eating grin on my face as my dad told her that her services were no longer needed and he would be in touch with her work and school.

When the gentleman's club was presented with evidence of what she was planning on doing to a client on their premises she was told they would no longer need her services either. When the community college was informed of what she tried to do she was told they would no longer need her as a student.

Don't fuck with my family.

Justice Served: If You Mess With My Cat, I'll Bury You!

JUSTICE SERVED 3From u/Amesa, ProRevenge

I like to think I'm a patient man. I'm hard to anger, my coworkers say they haven't seen me angry in the 2 years they've known me. I have firm boundaries and as long as you don't cross any of them I can let anything go.

One of my boundaries is: don't fuck with my cat.

This story is about 2 of my coworkers and me, and happened the winter of 2013.

So I worked at a veterinary hospital as a vet tech/kennel attendant, and coworker 1 is a kennel attendant(KA) coworker 2 is the kennel lead(KL). KA is the one who comes in to take care of the animals, KL is in charge of overseeing everything boarding and kennel related. They both crossed that very simple boundary.

I went away over Christmas since I lived in another state from my family, and while I was out I left my cat to board at work (one of the perks is free boarding). I trusted my coworkers would take care of him even if it was a top 2 busiest weekend of the year.

So, I set up his cage the night before I leave. He's a shy boy so I set up a tent with very distinct blankets(one is bright green, the other has rocket ships). I kiss him bye, and am on my way. I enjoy Christmas with family, candy and fudge, and other things unrelated to the story, and come back 6 days after leaving.

It's late when I get back, so the hospital is already closed and everyone has gone home. We all have a key so I swing by because I miss my cat and want to take him home.

What I am greeted by when I get to him is those same blankets, the white rocket ships now slightly tan/yellow damp with urine, old desiccated pieces of shit and smears on the wall, and a very stressed cat that smelled like pee. We're talking 6 days worth of filth. All they did was put in more food and change the litter box as far as I could tell.

I saw red.

KA, the attendant, was scheduled to take care of the animals that holiday. KL, the lead, had been there 3 different days I was gone, including the last 2. Figuring out how to destroy these people became the only thing I thought about.

RHU Characters 253I'm scheduled to work the day after I get back, and KA is there. I don't look at her all day, as it's the only way I could control my emotions. My blood is still boiling thinking about my boy who I'd had to bathe the night before(much to his chagrin). The sight of her makes that primal part of my brain reserved for beating the shit out of things starts to burn and makes my muscles tense.

(Now some important backstory here is that KA is kind of terrible at her job. We were kind of friends since she was the only one who wasn't shitty to me when I first started. Whenever I'd find something she messed up, I'd gripe to myself but I'd fix it. She did some write-upable shit on a regular basis. I never did anything because KL was already aware and working on her so I figured 'eh, none my bidness.')

I decided against violence and figured I'd let my manager handle it. At first, I just told him about the condition of my cat and kept the rest to myself. He agreed it was unacceptable and said he'd talk to her. She denied everything, said she'd changed my cats bedding every night, that he didn't get all of it in the litter box(unfortunately true, 12lb cat[not fat] aiming at a box made literally for kittens). Basically said I lied to my manager, to my managers face without batting an eye. I gave her the chance to own up to it because that would've come with punishment enough.

My manager told me what she said, and her blatant bullshittery poked the dragon that was already awake and pissed. I told him she's fucking lying, I work in the kennel too and not to mention I know my cats shit well. He believes me, and I not so subtly point out that if she pulls this shit on an employee pet, what has she been doing with the lot of random boarders? Manager thought it was a good point, and asks me to keep an eye out for mistakes and let him know what I find.

The next day, I was in the kennel alone without her, and I began to document every single thing she did incorrectly. Remember me saying how crap she was at her job? She left me a treasure trove of shit to dig up.

RHSEPT 224To name a few of these nuggets, every single animals cage was filthy, like multi-day filthy like my cats was, two dogs had had their medications switched for the whole week, there were copious amounts of shit left in the yard (big no-no, spreads parasites and disease), and not even her documentation and charges were entered correctly. It was a trainwreck that took me the whole morning to get back to an acceptable condition.

There was material here to get her enough writeups to lose her job if she had been perfect before, and she had already been disciplined a couple times for other shit she pulled. I gather it all together and bring it to my manager, who is horrified and says he's setting up a meeting with me, KA and KL, and him to discuss it all. He encourages me to hold my temper and call them on their bullshit at the meeting. Until then I hadn't even considered KL's complicity in this bullshit, but I immediately realized there were 2 people on my wrong side. KL was not as horrid at his job as KA, he was old as hell in a demanding physical labor position. I figured what he'd got coming will be enough so I could aim everything I'd got at KA.

What's the human equivalent of shooting fish in a barrel? Because this girl had already dug herself such a hole it was incredible she hadn't been fired already. She didn't do her job, she was stealing clients from the clinic by offering to petsit for cheaper instead of offering boarding (explicitly against our contract, fireable). She had been leaving 30 minutes early leaving the shit condition I'd had to deal with. And I knew all of this.

The day of the meeting rolls around, and KA and KL are blissfully unaware when manager calls us into the office together. We all sit down and manager begins to explain what the meeting is about. He was a fucking boss and we prearranged to give KA one more chance to own up to my face and leave out the rest at first. He had asked me how far I wanted to take it, I told him I had a lot of dirt. Let's let KA dig a deeper hole first so I can use it all.

She denied it all, swore up and down she had taken care of my poor cat properly.

I graciously gave her the benefit of the doubt, saying "Ok I believe you did clean like you say, but then how did you miss this dried up piece of shit?"

She said my cat must've been dehydrated.

I say "Oh, well you documented he'd been drinking well all week, why would he be dehydrated?"

She says it might have been just from the last day. She wouldn't just admit it...

So I give my manager the look, and he tells her, "Ok so you took care of the cat, what about all of this?" And he pulls out my stack of evidence I'd collected.

KA's face paled. KL had been silent up to this point and starts trying to apologize on KA's behalf, saying it was a busy week and things slip through the cracks. I called their shit, saying I had been able to handle as many animals as she had had to a higher degree of cleanliness than the 2 of them could accomplish, so busy was not a valid excuse.

Carolanne 049zWe went over every single sin KA and KL had committed for the past 3 days, individually and in depth with discussion about each one before moving on. As we worked through the stack, manager wrote up KA for every single offence that warranted it. By the end of it she had 6 writeups (3 to get fired).

She was sobbing, saying she couldn't afford her kids daycare if she didn't have that job.

My manager very pointedly told her he had never seen someone with such terrible job performance in 30yrs, and if she were worried about her kids, she would have done her job better.

KL was written up and removed from his lead position, and KA was given the option to quit before she was fired.

The end.

... hah! No it isn't. This is ProRevenge, not GirlOnlyLostHerJob. Oh no, there's so much more.

Remember how she had been stealing clients from the clinic? She had built up quite a large client base, and had told me some weeks before she was about to quit her job and petsit fulltime since she hates her job sooo much. Plus when she returned her key after quitting, she made sure I knew the crying was fake and she was planning to put in 2 weeks in the next couple days.

At the clinic, we still saw all of those same clients she had skimmed all the time, and plenty of them asked what happened to KA. Manager told everyone we should tell the truth, since we had a petsitter we referred to and KA was not it.

For the next few months, we saw so many faces twisted into expressions of disgust, contempt, betrayal, worry when we told them why KA was no longer there and why they should reconsider letting her watch their pets. Literally dozens of people. Anyone who has tried to petsit or do yardwork for a living before knows how hard it is to build that client base. KA had a decent one, which we absolutely destroyed.

After a while, she texted me saying I was a piece of shit who was destroying her and her kids life and she couldn't afford daycare anymore. She went from 2 or 3 petsitting gigs a week(about 300 dollars a week) to maybe 1 a month. I told her to fuck herself and blocked her number, and haven't heard anything since. Bitch.

Don't fuck with my cat.

Edit: for those saying I'm a shit human for letting this go as long as it did: KA and KL cleaned sometimes, just not enough for my standards.

KA had only been there a few months and it was her first big girl job (yes, kidS at 20yrs old), and there's a small learning curve. I figured it'd be ok for a week and was poor as shit at the time so options were thin. Until that week, I was there constantly cleaning to my standards so didn't know how bad these 2 would really let it get.

Protocol said lead is informed of performance issues before manager, and as I mention he was aware and KA had already been written up a couple times. I was done when I realized just how far they'd let it go so i went over KLs head right to manager because they clearly weren't handling the issues at all.

Even if my cat wasn't affected, I would've done the same, he was just unfortunately there because I had to go out of town. In hindsight I wish I'd said something sooner, but workplaces have rules and I was young and tender, and didn't know it was that bad until then.

Edit 2: I'll take this opportunity to give some advice on how to pick a good kennel facility.

  1. Always, I mean ALWAYS, ask to take a tour before leaving your animal. Dont schedule an appointment, ask to go back randomly. If they try to say no, say you don't feel comfortable leaving your pet without an idea of where they're staying. If they still wont, and even a manager denies a tour, take your business elsewhere as they probably have something to hide.
  2. If you do get a tour, here are some things to look out for. Check water bowls for grime and dirt. Some pets are messy, but if a good number are dirty, it's a big red flag.
  3. If the kennel smells strongly of some kind of air freshener, be wary and look around for messes. A good kennel attendant will smell pee and clean and replace things until they get rid of the smell; a bad one will spray some animal odor eliminator and cover it up.
  4. Make sure everything looks organized, properly labeled, and has some kind of system to it. Cluttered storage and unclear labeling is where so many mistakes come from; make sure they take those little things seriously, or something big may slip through the cracks.

Finding a good clinic and good boarding facility can be difficult, but they do exist. And just like you wouldn't want you or your child going to a shitty doctor or daycare, I don't want anyone taking their pets to a shitty veterinary clinic!
