Narcissistic Coworker Throws A Tantrum On The Floor

Bitch Encounters 1From: maumacd

I worked in a deli at a grocery store.

One of the girls I worked with was SO ANNOYING. This girl actually said to me on her first week, "Look, I can't be expected to remember any of this. I have too much going on in my head, you know? I'm EMO, ok?"

One day, our manager is in and is working on a huge order of party trays of little sandwiches in the rear area (not visible to customers, but very close to what is going on where you can hear everything, and take a few steps to see everything.

She's late, which is actually uncommon (she may be annoying as shit and extremely unhelpful, but the girl was there for her whole shift). When she gets there, I am helping a customer who wants her deli meat thick cut, so I have the meat slicer going which is kind of noisy.

She says something to me, but I ignore her because A) I actually have issues with the meat cutter. It scared the shit outta me, so I am super careful when I use it. B) I don't like her.

She then goes and unplugs the meat slicer so it stops running, and then stomps her foot like a toddler and screams at the top of her lungs, "MAUMACD, YOU NEED TO STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND LISTEN TO ME!"

I'm pretty stunned at all this so I don't say anything. A quick glance at the customer who has a WTF? look on his face.

I guess the manager had also peeked her head out at this point because of the commotion.

Xmas2009 160Then this awful coworker starts ranting at me how I don't give her enough attention, and that she is EMO so I should be giving her more attention and I don't like her posts on facebook, and why didn't I call her to see why she was late, and did't I worry about her? and how dare I not stop what I was doing the second she came in because obviously I should be really concerned about her because she is EMO and she knows I know she is EMO because she knows she told me... blah blah blah.

I am at this point, getting pissed as shit. My life does not revolve around her, and I am just trying to do some work so I can make money while I am at college. The last thing I want to be doing right now is cutting meat, and now I am being interrupted from that task to listen to some
bitch waste my time.

Then my manager walks up and taps her on the shoulder and says, "I was going to tell you're late, but you know what? Now I'm going to tell you you're fired. MauMacD, do you think you can do OK until Coworker#2 comes in?"

I nodded in the affirmative and they left. I never saw her again, and you know what? I'm ok with that.

The look on her face when our manager tapped her on the shoulder was priceless. Like a major 'oh shit' face.

Our manager had not been scheduled for that day to come in, but had because she was always kind of anal about the party trays and wanted to do them herself.

After my manager said she was fired, she just kind of deflated. Totally limp and submissive. It was a little sad, looking back on it - but again, I still remember my rage at her for being so self-centered, so it's not THAT sad.

Nasty Ass Thief Is A Terrible Worker, Leaves In Cuffs

Xmas2009 164From: trs1138

I used to work as a store manager at a very small retail cash store where I had one employee. She was very young, completely air-headed, and every day I regretted hiring her. I made it a requirement after her that applicants had to take a simple math test. She would constantly be calling me when she was in the store by herself (seriously, at least twice a day) with questions as simple as "what is 20% off $100?" Her cash was regularly off by tens to hundreds of dollars (which I would fix the next day and was usually as simple as she took money and didn't record it).

She was soon to be married and was planning a wedding in late-October. She only worked 24 hours a week and every third weekend. When she asked for time off for her wedding, I was perfectly fine with it as I expected giving her a little extra time off if she requested (since I would be the only one covering her hours). I gave her the weekend off as well as a few days each week. Her total time off ended up being somewhere around a week and a half. The only caveat was she needed to be back the weekend following her wedding because it was my anniversary with my wife and we had plans.

This was all figured out two months before her wedding.

The beginning of October comes and she's suddenly unhappy with the schedule and demands to have off three entire weeks including my weekend. I told her there was no way that was happening, so she put in her two weeks notice.

Fast forward to the following Monday.

I come in and find she was off by $200 again the Saturday she worked after putting in her notice on Friday. She walks in the door (with her fiance - I'm assuming she knew what was coming) and is met with my district manager and a police officer.

She's arrested for stealing and fired on the spot. I had a new employee hired before the end of the week... who was wonderful, worked with me for a year and eventually took over my position when I left.
